Bryce has a tooth

As of some time on Tuesday, the first little baby tooth on Bryce finally popped through his gums after at least a few days of extra drool. It is still one of the weirdest things to see a baby's first tooth. It feels like a tooth but doesn't really look like a tooth at first. He has been quite active rolling around on the floor and in his crib. At times it looks like he is going to up and crawl away from us, so I expect to see that in the very near future. That means making sure that all the baby-proofing gets back in place. It is amazing how when you have a child as good as Tyler, who does not open drawers and cabinets he is not supposed to, how lax you get with the safety measures in the house. Poor kid is going to hate us when the safety gates go back up pretty soon. God help us. Anyway, we wish you all a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend. Enjoy!

Tyler hits the Big Top

This past Sunday (which also happened to be Mother's Day, so happy Mother's Day to all the moms and moms-to-be out there), Amanda and I took Tyler to the circus in Hartford. Except for the fireworks, he seemed to really enjoy it. The elephants and tigers appeared to be his favorites, but it was really cool to see the expressions on his face for most of the performances. I still cannot figure out how the motorcycles in the cage do not hit each other when they start criss-crossing.
On a side note, everyone will be happy to know that, barring some serious bad luck, I will no longer be able to father a child. The world can now relax because there will only be 2 of my off-spring running around this planet.
Until next time, be safe and talk to you soon.

Busy times the last couple months

As all of you with any kids knows, they are very time consuming. I thought life moved to fast before having children. But now that Tyler has turned 4 years old more than a month ago, I really have to ask where the time has gone. A couple of weeks ago, Bryce passed the 6 month mark and again I ask myself where the time is going. Well clearly that time is not coming back, so let me catch you all up on a few things. Tyler weighed in at 38 lbs and measured 3ft-5in at his 4yr check-up. I swear he is going to be bigger than me within a few weeks (Uncle Denny almost has to look up already). Bryce's 6mo check-up put him at about 24in and 15lbs. I'd hate to know how big these two would be if they had not been born premature.

As for Amanda and I, outside of not having much time to breathe things are going very well. It's hard to believe, but we have now been married for over 5-1/2 yrs. Amanda is still cutting hair and I am rapidly approaching my 1yr anniversary of being out on the road selling booze. I'd also like to take the time to recognize some big happenings with the family and friends. Our nieces continue to grow very rapidly as well with Katie now 3-1/2 yrs old and Jaime (I hope I spelled that right, but I am very tired right now) celebrating her 1st birthday in March. Our nephew Kyle is now about 2-1/2 yrs old. Our close friends Denny and Mary Beth recently added Angela to their family and their first daughter Alison is approaching her 2nd birthday. Don and Sue also had a recent addition, pairing Andy up with Joey. Finally, and I hate to keep picking on Wisk, but the miracle of all miracles is going to occur soon as Andy and Courtney are awaiting the birth of their first child, which to the chagrin of Andy, I am predicting will be a girl. But I know Andy will be excited either way and I expect that he will be a great father.

We look forward to seeing everyone a soon as possible and hope that you will all enjoy reading and catching up on the goings on in our lives.

Welcome to our Blog

In an effort to update the goings on in Willimantic, we have created this new blog to have available for our friends and family to view. I have always been horrendous at picking up the phone to update people about the boys or other things happening in our lives (especially with the fact that every call I make is long distance because Grammy and Papa Light and some of the other Light Clan are the only people who live close). So if you are interested in our lives at all, please keep checking back for updates as I get used to using this thing. Everyboby please take care.

With love,
